Release 0.3.1 is a patch release which includes minor bug fixes and improvements, primarily around uninstall behavior and MDM configurability.

New Features

• Update checking can be turned off centrally: A new AllowCheckForUpdates managed preference (Boolean, defaults to true) turns update checking off entirely — both the manual "Check for Updates" control in Settings and About, and scheduled background checks. The controls stay visible but inert, with a tooltip explaining that updates are managed by the organization.

For MDM admins: this single key covers the manual trigger as well as background checks, which SUEnableAutomaticChecks does not. If you have already deployed your profiles, add this key to the provided Updates profile or upload the new provided Updates profile.

Bug Fixes

• Uninstall no longer half-removes a managed install: Uninstalling on a Mac whose system-extension policy still forbids removal previously deleted the app, its certificates, keychain items and data — leaving the extension loaded with nothing left on the machine able to remove it. Uninstall now attempts to retire the extension first and removes nothing at all if that does not succeed.

For MDM admins: swapping the system-extension policy from non-removable to removable is a prerequisite for uninstalling. If you need to remove everything else without waiting for that profile change, you may re-run the uninstaller with --force: it removes the app, certificates, keychain items and data as before, and leaves only the system extension in place.
