Release Notes

Release 0.3.6 includes stability and bug fixes, and quality-of-life improvements around the first-launch certificate trust prompt.

Setup explains certificate trust before macOS asks for your password: The setup assistant now ends with a dedicated step describing CloudZero's local certificate authority and why macOS is about to prompt you. Previously the system "Certificate Trust Settings" prompt arrived with no CloudZero context. Choosing "I'll do this later" leaves the existing menu bar prompt available to finish trust when convenient.

A stopped or unresponsive monitor no longer breaks AI provider connectivity: Previously, if the monitor was stopped, wedged, or failed to start, affected connections could be closed rather than allowed through, so applications saw dropped connections. These connections are now passed through to their destination. Usage on a passed-through connection is not recorded, but the connection succeeds.
CloudZero recovers after an in-place upgrade with failed app quit: When an upgrade replaced CloudZero while the preinstall script failed to terminate the running application, the running copy could keep executing the previous build indefinitely while reporting the new version. CloudZero now detects that mismatch and restarts itself onto the new build without a reinstall.
Capture no longer starts before the monitor is ready: On a first-time enable, CloudZero could begin capturing before its monitor was listening. It now defers the start and reports itself as installed rather than active until the monitor is ready.

Support diagnostics report monitor state accurately: The diagnostics used during a support session reported the monitor as running whenever any similarly named process existed, which produced "running" verdicts on machines where the monitor was absent. It now reports running only when a genuine CloudZero monitor owns the listening port, and distinguishes a monitor that is serving requests from one that is wedged.
